Founded in 1859 by German dry goods
merchant Theodore Kimms, the Historic town of Kimmswick, is
nestled along the banks of the mighty Mississippi River just
22 miles south of St. Louis.
Visitors to Kimmswick have the opportunity to step back in
time and spend a lovely afternoon browsing through the local
Antique, Collectable and Artisan Shops. Visitors will
discover a friendly small town hospitality, along with many
unique 18th and 19th Century buildings, delicious home style
restaurants and lovely bed and breakfasts.
Kimmswick is well known for its yearly festivals, which
include the Strawberry festival in June, the Civil War
Reeenactment in August, the Apple Butter Festival in October,
and the Candle Light Tour in December which draw many
visitors from around the world.
